West Virginia Wrongful Discharge and Personal Injury Lawyers
We have a broad range of experience in employment related issues including wrongful termination / wrongful discharge / wrongful firing; hostile work environment; age, sex, handicap and race discrimination; sexual harassment; political firing, civil service matters, and privacy issues; whistleblower. If you believe you have been fired or discharged for any of the above reasons you may have a case. Sometimes employers use pretexts, or in other words, excuses for firing someone when the real reason is hidden and illegal. For example, an employer may claim they are discharging or firing an employee because of their job performance, but really they are firing them because the employee is old. This is illegal. West Virginia law protects employees from illegal firings and in some cases West Virginia law makes the employer liable for attorney fees.
We have tried many employment cases before juries and have been involved in appeals of a number of employment cases to the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals and to the West Virginia Supreme Court.
We stand ready to respond to your needs and take pride in serving our clients effectively and efficiently. In any matter where we are retained to represent your interests, we make it our objective to understand the specifics of your circumstances and your goals for resolution.
Were you fired for reporting safety violations or fraud at your work? Did your former employer demote you for enforcing WV public policy? If so, you may be able to bring a claim for damages. Contact us for a free consultation to see if you have a case.
